Prime Minister Manmohan Singh wants to silence the voices that question his nuclear energy policy. The witch-hunt has seen several NGOs threatened by receiving tax notices from the IT department or freezing of accounts and it is anybody's guess who is next on the line! Greenpeace India has been questioning the government’s intention to dilute the suppliers’ liability clause in the Nuclear Liability Act.[1] This is only possible because of the support of lakhs of individuals across India – over 200,000 financial donors and close to 1,000,000 online supporters. You make Greenpeace India independent of government or corporate control. Right now, the government wants to make the Indian taxpayers pay for the mistakes of foreign nuclear corporations. It’s gagging its people and giving in to the French, American and Russian nuclear corporations. Sign this petition to stop the dilution of the liability provision in the Nuclear Liability Act and share it with your friends. http://www.greenpeace.in/take-action/no-nuclear/no-clause-dilution.php The government has been going after groups that they allege are “foreign funded.”[2] This is just an excuse to silence opposition to their plans, and clear the way for foreign nuclear companies to put Indians needlessly at risk. These corporations are the real "foreign hands". The government is trying to distract the people by running this witch-hunt. These are tough times and that’s why your continued support is especially important. Sign this petition, show your support now. http://www.greenpeace.in/take-action/no-nuclear/no-clause-dilution.php Thanks a billion!
